• Hesed's clients visited the State Polytechnic Museum

Since 2023, the Volunteer Center Kyiv Hesed, which operates under the ICF “Jewish Hesed “Bnei Azriel”, has actively launched an educational project, within which volunteers help grandparents get familiar with technical innovations and acquire practical skills gadget-fuelled. This is led directly by Oleksandr Dyomkin, a graduate student at the Uman State Pedagogical University named after Pavel Tychyni, and volunteers from the Center.

The project is incredibly popular and meets the demands of summer people, and, as a matter of fact, the essence of our life lies in the recognition of the achievements of the scientific and technological revolution. At this time of the day, participants are busy not only with their phones and tablets, but also with the development of everyday industrial technology, computing devices and the technical aspects of space flights. Therefore, recently the Kyiv Hesed Volunteer Center organized for the project participants a long-awaited excursion to the State Museum of the National Technical University of Ukraine “Kyiv Polytechnic University named after Igor Sikorsky”. Transport for participants was provided by the ICF “Jewish Hesed “Bnei Azriel”.

Unfazed by the changing weather and the prevailing anxiety, about 30 people of the “golden” age gathered from all over the capital of Ukraine for this long-term visit. During the excursion, the participants learned about the history of the museum. All the exhibitions displayed in two premises of the university. Everybody of excursionists found out things which have raised wonderful memories about their past. Also our participants had the opportunity to visit the space capsule and see themselves as actual astronauts!

At the end of the excursion, the coordinator of the Volunteer Center - Ivanna Edgarova - handed over delicious donuts to the participants, which had been baked the previous evening by the volunteer teams of the Kyiv Hesed and Halom Volume centers.

“The visit will be well organized! The Cosmonautics Museum is of particular interest, and the exhibition also contains a lot of things that we have heard about, but have not yet learned about in real life,” one of the participants, V. Verkhovsky, shared his thoughts. And we thank everyone for the excursion who contributed to its event, as well as the NGO “Joint Center” for the great support of the cultural initiative!
