• Our wards at the exhibition of works of Ukrainian designer Slava Zaymak

Life does not stand still, everything changes, and the art especially. In turn, it is changing the world, landscapes of city streets, interiors of houses, human relationships, and our perception of the world as a whole. And the influence of visual arts on mood, psychological state and human life is difficult to overestimate. Visiting galleries and exhibitions is always an event in our life regardless of age, status, character and education. Of course, we also look at pictures in magazines, catalogs, books or in the Internet. But in order to truly plunge into the world of art, to see with our own eyes and, ideally, physically touch that from which draw makes the heart soar, we go to an art gallery or Museum, to an artist's Studio or showroom of the designer. And we, the ICF "Jewish Hesed "Bnei Azriel" are trying to acquaint our wards with both classical masterpieces and new areas of design and artistic creativity, giving them the opportunity to visit exhibitions. One of those bright autumn events was the visit to the exhibition of works of Ukrainian designer Slava Zaymak.

Slava is not only talented man with his view of the world, but the artist who invented a new technology of applying a special blend of hot glue and paint to canvas, clothing, shoes, accessories. Working as a chief artist of the Kiev theatre "Suzirya", Slava gives all his spare time to creativity, creating unique paintings and things. Being a very open, sunny and cheerful person, Slava gladly gave a tour of his exhibition, telling our wards not only about new technologies, but also answering their numerous questions. And his curious visitors asked about his family and personal life, about work, about paints and how the creative process begins, how paintings are created, what he was feeling at the time when he created his Golden webs...

Our wards and the author received great pleasure from communication… and invited him to visit Hesed…and Slava Zaymak agreed! And not just to visit, but to teach Art Therapy for our wards! This course will start in mid-November 2016 and includes talks, drawing lessons, color therapy and yet many useful, that, undoubtedly, will promote not only social adaptation of our clients, but also will improve their health and develop creative potential.

ICF "Jewish Hesed "Bnei Azriel" is open to all positive people and will enthusiastically support creative projects. We are grateful to Slava Zaymak for his initiative and hope that the other talented people will also join us. We wish Slava every success and look forward to the first stage of our project "Art Therapy"!
